cost的意思是“成本”或“原价”(the amount of money needed to make or buy something);price的意思是“定价”或“价格”(the amount of money that you must pay in order to buy it),它指卖方出售的价钱,因此,price通常比cost高。

With the introduction of the new method, the products decreased in cost.

“What is the price of a new English-Chinese Dictionary?” English Pitfalls is priced at HK$56.《英语陷阱》一书定价为56港币。

“How much did they cost you?” — “They cost me $142. I bought them at cost price.”“这些书你花了多少钱?”——“142元。

What a price we paid for it!

They will accomplish their purpose at any price.

What costs nothing sometimes fetches a high price.

The highest price a man can pay for a thing is to ask for it.

Every man has his price.
