英语单词historic，historical用法及区别

这两个词都是形容词，又都有“历史的”含义，但使用场合并不相同。

historic的词义是“具有历史意义的”或“历史上有名的”、“载入史册的”（important in history or of the times whose history has been recorded），经常与之搭配使用的词有spot，times，culture，city，speech，change，significance，figure，event，meeting。例：

The meeting of the Prime Minister of Israel and the King of Jordan is a historic event of our times．以色列总理和约旦国王的会晤是我们这个时代的历史性事件。

Our literature and art have undergone a fundamental，historic change．我们的文艺经历了历史性的根本变革。

historical的词义是“历史的”、“和历史有关的”（of or connected with history），经常与之搭配的词有：record，fact，document，findings，play，novel，museum，development等。例：

Have you paid a visit to the historical museum in New York？你有没有去参观过纽约的历史博物馆？

This book is based on historical events.这本书是根据历史事件撰写的。

现将historic和historical用在一个句中，以便区别：

There is a description of the historic battle in the historical novel.在这本历史小说里有一段描绘这场历史上著名的战役。

语法术语中的“历史现在时”historic present和historical present通用；historic infinitive（历史不定式）也可以和historical infinitive通用。

historic和historical的副词都是historically。

请注意，historical school不是“历史悠久的学校”，而是“（社会、经济、法律学等方面的）历史学派”。
